1. Overview

This guide explains how to configure your INGOS EMAIL account in Microsoft Outlook using a MAPI connection through the Office 365 setup process (no Office 365 subscription required). This approach simply enables the Autodiscover feature to make setup as straightforward as possible.

2. Add a New Account to Outlook
  • Open Outlook: Launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
  • Go to Account Settings: Navigate to File > Account Information > Add Account. If you are opening Outlook for the first time or have no existing accounts, the account setup wizard will appear automatically.
  • Select Account Type: Choose Office 365 to initiate the Autodiscover process.
  • Enter Your Email Address: Type in your INGOS EMAIL address (e.g., demo@oningos.com) and click Next.
  • Authentication: Wait for Outlook to retrieve the Autodiscover records for INGOS EMAIL, then enter your password to complete the sign-in process.
3. Specific Settings
  • Enable Exchange Offline Cache: If you plan to open the account on a terminal server or an environment without offline access, you must turn on the Exchange Offline Cache. Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings > select your INGOS EMAIL account > More Settings... > Advanced tab. Check the option to enable Offline Cache and ensure an appropriate time range is selected so the account can load correctly.
4. Test the Connection
  • Verify Synchronization: After setup, Outlook will automatically begin synchronizing your emails, calendar, and contacts. Ensure that all items are displayed correctly.
  • Send a Test Email: Compose and send a test email to another address to ensure that sending is functioning properly.
  • Receive an Email: Ask a colleague to send you an email and verify its reception in your Outlook inbox.
5. Troubleshooting
  • Connection Issues: Ensure that your computer is connected to the internet. Also, verify that the entered server details are correct.
  • Authentication Errors: Make sure that the username and password are entered correctly. If necessary, reset your password.
  • Synchronization Problems: Check the Offline Cache settings and ensure that there is sufficient storage space available on your device.
  • Further Assistance: If problems persist, please contact INGOS Support.
