Install and connect the app

  1. Install the app
  2. Prepare a code
  3. Connect the app
  4. App permissions
  5. If it fails
  6. New phone or logout
1. Install the app

Download INGOS Phone from the App Store or from Google Play.

2. Prepare a code

You connect the app with a QR code. It comes in one of two ways:

  • You create it yourself in the web interface under Meine App (My app), see Connect your phone. It is valid for 10 minutes.
  • Your administrator sends it to you. It is valid for 24 hours.

Each code is valid exactly once. You need access to my.ingos.com that INGOS has set up for your extension.

3. Connect the app
  1. Open the app and select Scan INGOS QR.
  2. Allow access to the camera.
  3. Scan the code. On iPhone, Signing in via my.ingos.com… appears.
  4. Allow the permissions with Allow & continue. If you choose Later, the app asks again when needed.
  5. Call a colleague to test.

In Settings, the value for my.ingos.com then shows connected.

4. App permissions
Permission Used for
Microphone Phone calls
Camera Scan a QR code, video calls
Contacts Show names instead of numbers
Notifications Calls and messages when the app is closed
Phone calls (Android) Answer and place calls

On Android, the app asks once for an exception from battery optimization. Allow it so calls ring reliably.

5. If it fails
Message Solution
Code invalid or expired Create a new code in my.ingos.com.
my.ingos.com can't be reached right now Check your internet connection and try again later.
No connection profile is stored for this extension yet Contact your administrator or INGOS.
6. New phone or logout
  • New phone: Create a new code and scan it on the new device. Log the old phone out there under Log out.
  • Log out: Open Settings and select Log out at the very bottom. Confirm with Sign out?. The device is then disconnected from the phone system, and calls and messages no longer arrive there.
  • Another account: In Settings, select Sign in again (QR). This does not work during a call.
