Monitoring

2. Release: 2024-10-24

Enhancements:

  • SNMP Operations Scheduling:
    • Users can now schedule SNMP operations, such as interface discovery, VLAN updates, SysLocation & Description changes, and SysOID updates.
  • Vulnerability Data Request:
    • Customers can request vulnerability data by sharing the device's OS version information.
  • Interface Discovery:
    • A new option allows the discovery of previously deleted interfaces, with profiles now supporting scheduled discovery.
  • Agent-Based Monitoring:
    • Added support for agent-based server monitoring with additional features like real-time availability alerts and monitoring during server reboots.
  • Custom Widgets:
    • Added custom widgets, such as "Devices by Disk Utilization," under Health and Performance groups.
  • Forecast Reporting:
    • New trend reports for CPU, memory, and disk utilization, with customizable historical data for forecasting.
  • Enhanced VMware Monitoring:
    • Extended VMware monitoring to support VSAN datastores and NIC/HBA-specific alerts at the ESX level.
  • Device Discovery:
    • Enhanced CSV-based network discovery, allowing custom field mapping and improved timeout handling.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • New CLI monitors for Linux, IBM AIX, and Solaris devices, including "System Reboot Time" and load average metrics.
  • Wireless LAN Controller Monitoring:
    • Support for REST API-based WLC monitoring for Ruckus SZ and Arista Cloud Wireless Controllers.
  • Access Point Monitoring:
    • Automatic discovery and updates for new access points every 6 hours, with alerts for newly discovered or decommissioned access points.
  • Advanced Reporting:
    • New filter options for advanced reports, including availability and trend analysis.

Improvements:

  • Dashboard and Visualization:
    • Enhanced widget resizing and layout customization, with options to toggle between donut and radial bar views.
    • Improved interface forecast graph scaling for better visualization.
  • Monitoring Efficiency:
    • Optimized resource utilization during VMware discovery and data collection processes.
    • IP SLA monitoring now allows custom intervals, configurable in minutes.
  • User Experience:
    • Users can now rearrange columns, save column sorting preferences, and switch tabs without losing pagination.
    • Device snapshot pages now include additional columns for interface IP addresses and device-specific notes.

Fixed Issues:

  • Backup and Alarm Management:
    • Backup failure alarms are now triggered only if devices have been successfully backed up at least once.
    • Fixed incorrect alarm triggers for unmanaged devices and resolved false availability alerts.
  • Configuration and Scheduling:
    • Addressed startup failures caused by OAuth configurations in the central server for mail settings.
    • Resolved issues with rediscovery for Meraki Controllers, ensuring updated IP addresses, display names, and network details.
  • Reports and Data Collection:
    • Fixed alignment issues in exported reports and improved data accuracy in advanced and default reports.
  • Security Updates:
    • Implemented security improvements, including updates to Apache Tomcat and JSON libraries, and enhanced content security policies.
    • Closed vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and improved protection for custom dashboard widgets.
