Find and view older restore points

Every backup creates a restore point. On the device, under Wiederherstellung (Restore), you find the timeline with all restore points. Each card states the date, the time, the type of backup, and the storage. The newest restore point is marked as aktuellster Stand (Latest restore point).

1. Use the arrows to move to older or newer restore points. Below, you see which restore point is selected, for example Stand 1 von 50 (Restore point 1 of 50).
2. For a better overview, click Vollbild-Zeitachse (Full-screen timeline).

1. On the timeline, select a restore point.
2. Click Dateien wiederherstellen (Restore files). The folder view of this restore point opens.
3. Open folders as usual and see which files existed at that time.

The view is for looking things up. You do not download files here. How you get a file back is covered in Get data back.

In the folder view, click Vergleichen (Compare) and select a second restore point. The app shows which files are neu (New), geändert (Changed), or gelöscht (Deleted). You quickly find the last restore point before an unwanted change.

Comparison is available for Files & folders backups, not for full images.

1. On the device, click Datei über alle Stände suchen (Find a file across all restore points).
2. Enter at least two characters of the file name. Optionally, limit the search to a folder.
3. Click Suchen (Search). The search goes through the most recent restore points, and the result shows how many. Deleted files are found too, as long as they are in one of these restore points.
4. With Öffnen (Open), you jump straight into the folder of the restore point.
