The ring

The ring at the top left shows what percentage of your devices are backed up. Below it is a short statement, for example Alles gesichert (Everything backed up) or Bitte prüfen (Please check), with the success rate. If a device missed the last backup, the statement states the number of these devices.

Devices that are turned off at night, such as notebooks, appear under Wartet auf Verbindung (Waiting for connection). This is not an error and does not trigger an alert.

Overview with ring, backup activity, key figures, and backup storage

Backup activity

The grid shows each day as a square. The stronger the green, the more was backed up. Yellow stands for notices, red for errors.

  1. Choose the time range: Letzte 12 Monate (Last 12 months) or a single year.
  2. Click a day. You see which backups ran on that day.
  3. From there you open the device or the details of a run.

Key figures

  • Server gesichert (Servers backed up) and Workstations gesichert (Workstations backed up): how many devices are backed up successfully.
  • Belegter Speicher (Storage used): how much space your backups use.
  • Sicherungs-Speicher (Backup storage): the usage of each storage.
  • Geräte nach System (Devices by system): how many devices are backed up per operating system.
  • Globale Richtlinie (Global policy): what applies to all devices and how long they are backed up. You can change it through INGOS.

Unusual changes

If something on a device is out of the ordinary, a notice of its own appears. For example, far more was changed than usual, or many files have disappeared. Then take a closer look at the device. Sudden mass changes can point to accidental deletion or an attack.

Note

If you cannot interpret the notice, submit a request to INGOS. Older restore points are kept as long as they remain in retention.
