This guide shows you how to set up the INGOS Phone app (for iOS and Android). The goal is connecting your device to the INGOS PBX system for VoIP calls. This saves costs and enables mobility.
Two setup methods: QR code scan (quick, error-free) or manual entry (via username and password, but prone to errors). After setup, adjust the domain (from demo.pbx.ingos.net to cXXXXX.pbx.ingos.net), as the demo domain only allows tests and blocks real connections.
Prerequisites: Download the app ("INGOS Phone" in the App Store or Google Play Store), stable internet (Wi-Fi recommended), access data (username, password, customer number cXXXXX).

- Common Issues and Tips
For bulk setups, central configuration via INGOS MDM software might be more efficient, as it allows automation
Choose strong passwords without ":" , "#" or "@", as these are delimiters in the QR format and cause parsing errors.
Install the app: Search and get it in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Start the app: Allow permissions for microphone, camera, and notifications – essential for calls, as no camera access prevents scanning (privacy measure).
Check the app version: Newer ones might auto-adjust domains, saving manual steps.
QR format: csc:Username:Password@INGOS (replace with your data, example: csc:maxmustermann:strongPassword@INGOS).
Generate the code using a QR code generator. Scan in the app: Select the option, point the camera – the app auto-fills data.
Then adjust the domain: Gear > Account Setup > Domain to cXXXXX.pbx.ingos.net. Save and test (test call).
This minimizes errors by avoiding manual input.
The demo domain is a placeholder, without adjustment authentication fails.
Select manual setup, enter username and password (case-sensitive).
Adjust the domain as above and test.
Store data in INGOS Password Manager for secure copy-paste.
Create a table in Excel: Column A username, B password, C formula "csc:" & A1 & ":" & B1 & "@INGOS".
Copy strings into a QR generator, export as PDF (one page per code).
Test codes before distribution
Connection fails? Check internet, domain, and password validity; PBX systems log errors, look in the app log.
iOS vs. Android: iOS handles background calls better; on Android disable battery optimization.
Updates: Keep the app current – new versions might improve features.
Change passwords regularly.
